CONTOURA VISION IN INDIA

Contoura Vision Introduced In India

Backed by the favorable multicenter clinical trial results which demonstrated its superior clinical efficacy and safety, Contoura Vision received US FDA approval for a commercial launch in early 2016.

The US FDA, The United States Food and Drug Administration, is the regulatory body which evaluates any available technology for clinical safety and effectiveness before allowing doctors to offer it to their patients, after a series of rigorous clinical tests and clinical trials.

Obvious advantages, as evidenced by the FDA clinical trials include:

  • Almost all patients (98%) who underwent the Contoura Vision Lasik Surgery said they would choose it again for themselves.

  • One third of the eyes had better unaided vision after the procedure than they had with glasses or contacts before surgery

  • The patients reported a significant decrease in annoying visual symptoms like glare, sensitivity to light, and difficulty in driving at night.

  • 40% patients had vision better than 6/6 or 20/20 which is considered normal for human beings.

All patients find the fact that it is bladeless reassuring, doctors are more at ease with the technology because the fastest tracker associated with the machine ensures proper centration of the customized ablation, on the visual axis, each time.

Given its spectacular performance in terms of both patient satisfaction and surgeon comfort, the Contoura Vision technology has found immediate acceptance the world over.

The good news is, that to find access to customized ablation, you don’t have to travel to the USA anymore. This technology has already found its way to India, in less than two years of its commercial introduction to the world market.
